Full name Henry Charles Albert David, Prince Henry of Wales or more commonly referred to as Prince Harry was born on September 15, 1984. Prince Harry is the younger son of Prince Charles and Princess Diana and is thus third in line of succession. His full title is His Royal Highness Prince Henry Charles Albert David of Wales.
Growing up, Prince Harry has been labeled a “wild child” for his reputation as being somewhat rebellious. Unlike his brother, Prince Harry’s personal life was not largely followed although he once captured media attention with his relationship with Chelsy Davey.
For his education, Prince Harry went to various independent schools starting with Jane Mynor’s nursery school and proceeding to the Wetherby School. He spent his college years at Eton while simultaneously developing his love for sports.
In the year 2005, the prince entered the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. He has completed his officer’s training by 2006 and on 2008 was promoted to the rank of lieutenant.
In between that however, Prince Harry along with his regiment was deployed to the front line in Iraq. This decision was thoroughly agreeable to the prince although most are afraid that he would become a prime target during battle. Still, it was revealed that the prince was secretly deployed to Afghanistan and is deemed the first of the Royal Family to serve in war since his Uncle Andrew. He was then awarded the Operational Service Medal for Afghanistan in the year 2008.
Prince Harry is also active in various charities and organizations, with sports being one of his ways to help. Much like his father and brother, the prince participated in various polo matches in order to raise funds for charity. Some of the charities that has his patronage include WellChild and MapAction.
