Jacob Benjamin Gyllenhaal or more popularly known as Jake Gyllenhall is an American actor born in Los Angeles, California on December 19, 1980. Coming from a family involved in the entertainment industry, it is not surprising that he also made it big in this industry for more than a decade already. His father, Stephen Gyllenhaal, is a director, while his mother, Naomi Foner, is a screenwriter and film producer. Jake Gyllenhaal’s sister, Maggie Gyllenhaal, is also an actress. In fact, they have worked together in a project, also playing as brother and sister to each other. This was in the indie film Donnie Darko. They also worked together in the 1993 movie A Dangerous Woman. The young American actor was also able to work with his father several times.
