Hugh Jackman was born on October 12, 1968 in Sydney, New South Wales. The Australian actor and producer is the youngest of five children of Chris Jackman and Grace Watson. His parents separated when he was 8 years old and he was left to live with his father and siblings.
Hugh Jackman has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication and took up some more courses in acting. When he was a young boy at school, he starred in a musical entitled My Fair Lady in 1985. His early exposure in musical theater prepared him for bigger stage performances later on. He starred in Walt Disney’s local production of Beauty and the Beast as Gaston and Sunset Boulevard as Joe Gillis. The acclaimed stage production Oklahoma! became his ticket to stardom. He played the lead role Curly, which brought him nominations for the Olivier Award and made him famous outside Australia.
Hugh Jackman’s prowess in acting was not limited in the stage; he also became part of popular action and super hero-themed films that made his star shine brighter. He starred in Van Helsing, The Prestige, Kate & Leopold , and Australia. And who would forget his portrayal of the classic X-Men favorite Wolverine in the X-Men series. He also starred in The Boy from Oz and won a Tony Award for this. He also hosted the Tony Awards for three times already.
In 2008, the talented actor was hailed by Open Salon as one of the "sexiest men alive." A little later, People magazine affirmed this recognition by naming Hugh Jackman as The Sexiest Man Alive. Perhaps his spouse Deborra-Lee Furness couldn’t be more proud of his man.
