Although he has the makings of a leading man, Colin Farrell also proved to be a good supporting actor in films like Daredevil with Ben Affleck and in Minority Report with Tom Cruise. In the film Daredevil, the Irish actor proved how he loved to play different characters, even that of a villain. He had piercings everywhere and even had his head shaved for the role. With such an eccentric character, Collin Farrell easily got noticed even with this nemesis role, proving that he's not just another pretty boy.
Born on March 31, 1976, Farrell was raised in Dublin by a working class family and grew up in a tough hood. Before he aspired to be an actor, he wanted to follow the footsteps of his father and uncle who were both soccer players. At 17, however, he grew tired of the training camp and dropped out. Even as a young lad, Farrell's love for American movies was apparent. He then attended Gaiety School of Drama but later dropped out. He then landed a role in BBC's Ballykissangel, a pastoral comedy. Farrell made his film debut in the movie Drinking Crude in 1997 and also became a theater actor. He caught the eye of Tim Roth, enough for him to be cast in the actor's directorial debut The War Zone in 1999. Even Kevin Spacey was impressed that he helped Farrell land some roles by talking to some execs.
Farrell took on different roles, from a tortured hit man, adventurous explorer, and CIA agent, to writer and prominent leader in history. Among his highly recognizable films in Hollywood include Tigerland, Daredevil, Miami Vice, Minority Report, Phone Booth, Alexander, In Bruges, and S.W.A.T. He co-starred with Al Pacino in the movie The Recruit, and according to the veteran actor, he was one of the best in his generation. The Irish actor was able to gain nominations and awards from Golden Globe, IFTA, and Satellite Award.
The talented actor has the reputation of being a lady's man. Women simply love his sexy Irish accent, bad boy charm, and his oozing appeal on and off screen.
